REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 29, 1996 — Microsoft Corp. today announced its acquisition of multidimensional Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) technology from Panorama Software Systems of Tel Aviv, Israel. Panorama’s high-performance technology is based on a three-tier multidimensional architecture designed to support online analytical processing, enterprise information systems and decision support applications.

The inclusion of multidimensional functionality in Microsoft products will also complement the offerings available through Microsoft’s recently announced Alliance for Data Warehousing.
