REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 27, 1997 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the immediate availability of Microsoft® Internet Explorer Plus, the eagerly awaited retail version of Internet Explorer 4.0. Internet Explorer Plus combines the premier Internet browser with state-of-the-art Internet utilities to offer experienced and new users the best value available. In addition, Internet Explorer Plus provides users with a fast and easy way to get up and running with Internet Explorer 4.0 through the CD installation process.

Microsoft Internet Explorer Plus contains the award-winning Internet Explorer 4.0, the best browser for fast and easy Web surfing; Outlook
™Express for e-mail and newsgroup reading; FrontPage® Express for Web page creation; NetMeeting

conferencing software for real-time application sharing and videoconferencing; and Active Channel

Pricing and Availability

Internet Explorer Plus is available in most of the major computer retail outlets, such as CompUSA, Office Depot and Computer City. (See a complete list at the end of this news release.) The estimated retail price of Internet Explorer Plus is $49. However, for a limited time only, Microsoft is offering a $20 mail-in rebate on all licenses of Internet Explorer Plus (rebate must be received by December 1998).
