Michael Jordan Internet Explorer 4.0 Active Channel Debuts

REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 20, 1997 — Microsoft Corp. and CBS SportsLine today announced the immediate availability of the Michael Jordan Internet Explorer 4.0 Active Channel
™(http://cbs.sportsline.com/u/iejordan/subscribe.html) . CBS SportsLine (http://cbs.sportsline.com/) , in conjunction with Microsoft, developed this unique Active Channel, providing users of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0 exclusive access to information on Michael Jordan, such as the following:

  • Monthly columns by Michael Jordan

  • Audio clips from every Bulls game

  • Audio clips from Jordan interviews

  • Charts depicting where and how Jordan made his shots

In addition, the Michael Jordan Active Channel will feature multimedia entertainment and information showcasing Jordan’s life, on and off the court, and will allow fans to communicate with him through a vast array of technological and interactive features including
e-mail and scheduled chats.

The debut of the Michael Jordan Active Channel demonstrates CBS SportsLine’s commitment to Internet Explorer 4.0 technologies. CBS SportsLine was one of the initial Active Channel content providers available to users at launch. The Active Channel will complement the Michael Jordan Web site that CBS SportsLine recently introduced by allowing Internet Explorer 4.0 users to have access to even more information about one of basketball’s greatest players.

Its support for Active Channel technology delivers exciting customized and interactive Web content from the world’s leading Web sites right to users’ fingertips.
