Coldwell Banker Bain to Provide Home Listings on MSN HomeAdvisor

SEATTLE, Oct. 28, 1998 — Seattle-based Coldwell Banker Bain Associates and Microsoft Corp. today announced an agreement that will place the local real estate firm’s listings of homes for sale on the MSN® HomeAdvisor
™
online real estate service. With the agreement, Coldwell Banker Bain, one of Seattle’s top real estate firms, joins a vast nationwide network of brokers that have placed their listings on the first comprehensive guide to the home-buying process.

The agreement enables customers who have listed their homes for sale with Coldwell Banker Bain in the Puget Sound region to receive the broadest possible local, regional and national exposure for their properties via HomeAdvisor at no additional cost. Consumers will also be able to e-mail Coldwell Banker Bain agents from each of its listings.

“Coldwell Banker Bain takes its affiliations seriously, partnering only with select organizations like Microsoft that uphold our standards for quality,”
said William J. Riss, president of the 550-agent firm.
“More and more, customers are asking for new avenues for marketing their homes. By putting our listings on HomeAdvisor, we’re reaching a whole new audience of potential buyers.”

Coldwell Banker Bain adds to the industry-leading coverage of the Pacific Northwest in HomeAdvisor, which already includes home listings from market leaders such as John L. Scott Real Estate in Seattle, RE/MAX and The Equity Group Inc. Realtors in Portland, Ore. In addition, HomeAdvisor has signed agreements with several other Seattle-area real estate agents and brokers, including Sutton Real Estate Inc. in Mill Creek, Inov8 Real Estate Inc. in Bothell, Lake & Company Real Estate Inc. in Seattle, and MacPherson’s Better Homes & Gardens in Shoreline.

“We are thrilled to be providing consumers in the Puget Sound area with the most comprehensive selection of homes available on any national home-listing site,”
said Ian Morris, group product manager for Microsoft HomeAdvisor.
“People looking for a home in the Pacific Northwest now have one site that offers detailed listings for a majority of homes on the market. Coldwell Banker Bain is a Pacific Northwest leader in real estate and we are proud to add its listings to HomeAdvisor.”

The information supplied by Coldwell Banker Bain will be available in the Homes section of HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor consists of five core areas, designed around the information and tools that home buyers care most about: understanding the home-buying process, finding the right neighborhood, finding the right home, securing a mortgage, and understanding the offer and closing process.
