Microsoft Extends WebMD Purchase Offer

REDMOND, Wash., May 19, 1999 — Microsoft Corp. announced today that, in light of published reports of a proposed merger between Healtheon Corp. and WebMD, Inc., it is extending until May 25, 1999, its offer to purchase shares of WebMD’s Series F Preferred Stock. Microsoft has sent an extension notice to all holders of Series F Preferred Stock and expects to make a further announcement regarding its offer in the event Healtheon and WebMD reach agreement on their proposed merger.

As of May 19, 1999, holders of 499,790 shares of Series F Preferred Stock had accepted Microsoft’s purchase offer.
