Steve Ballmer to Deliver Opening Keynote at Fusion 2000

REDMOND, Wash., May 22, 2000 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that Steve Ballmer, president and CEO of Microsoft, will deliver the opening keynote address at Microsoft®
Fusion 2000. Fusion 2000, Microsoft’s premier partner event of the year, will be held at the World Congress Center and Georgia Dome in Atlanta, July 14-17. Ballmer will kick off the show on July 14 by discussing how the Internet is changing the way we do business, the way people communicate, and even the way we are entertained. Throughout the four-day show, other leaders within Microsoft’s Enterprise and Partner Group, including Jeff Raikes, group vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, will focus on business opportunities for the channel provided by the growing Internet economy and related new solution offerings for customers.

Microsoft has expanded the audience for Fusion 2000, traditionally targeted to Microsoft Certified Solution Providers (MCSPs) only, by opening its doors to all of its managed partners, making the event the largest worldwide gathering of valued Microsoft business partners and solution providers. Participants in this year’s event will include nearly 5,000 MCSPs, independent software vendors, application and system integrators, and resellers.

Fusion 2000 will outline for partners Microsoft’s vision for the next generation of Internet technologies, and provide them with highlights of Microsoft’s latest products and implementation strategies, strategies on how they can capitalize on Microsoft resources and solutions, best practices from recognized experts and industry influencers, and peer networking and partnering to help them increase business opportunities and exceed customer expectations.
