Microsoft and NetIQ Sign Technology Cross-Licensing Development and Marketing Agreement

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12, 2000 — Today at the Intel Exchange conference, Microsoft Corp. and NetIQ Corp. announced a technology licensing agreement and partnership in operations management.

Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will license the NetIQ Operations Manager technology for managing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 operating system and Microsoft .NET Enterprise Servers. The companies also will collaborate on the development and marketing of additional management solutions for servers, clients, applications and devices.
