Microsoft and Unisys Deliver Performance and Value for SAP Customers

2000 Enterprise Edition has achieved a record-setting level of performance on the mySAP.com

Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark on the Windows platform: 18,500 concurrent SD Benchmark users. This result — on a 32-processor, 32-bit Unisys ES7000 — is the third highest performance rating ever for the SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark.

The Unisys ES7000 used as the database server in the benchmark test was configured with 32 700 MHz Intel Pentium III Xeon processors, 12 GB of memory and 16 MB of level three cache. The server ran Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition and SAP

Release 4.6C. Database server CPU utilization was 94 percent. Ninety-two Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES5085s, each with eight 700 MHz Intel Pentium III Xeon processors and 4 GB of memory, were also used in the test as application servers. CPU utilization on the application servers was 57 percent. Total disk space used was 623 GB.

The benchmark was conducted at the Unisys performance laboratory in Mission Viejo, Calif., and has been certified by SAP AG. More information on the benchmark is available upon request from Unisys and SAP AG.
