Microsoft Press Offers Complete Line of Resources for Office XP

REDMOND, Wash., June 8, 2001 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the availability of more than 20 reference and self-paced learning titles from Microsoft Press, designed to help customers navigate the new world of the Microsoft® Office XP business productivity suite. The books and companion CD-ROMs — which include a new Inside Out series designed for advanced software users – offer comprehensive guidance to help users, developers and information technology professionals at all levels navigate the new features and functionality of Office XP.

“We’re offering these resources to help our customers work smarter and unlock the full potential of Office XP,”
said Matt Sullivan, lead product manager at Microsoft Press.

From casual beginners to technology junkies, business users to IT professionals, we’ve developed our learning solutions to help everyone get what they need.

“These resources can also play an essential role in building job skills and deployment,”
said Sullivan.
“For example, books within the Step-by-Step series provide intermediate users with easy-to-follow lesson plans that are ideal for self-paced learning and can act as their coach to help them work with confidence. The new Inside Out series, on the other hand, gives advanced users the in-depth information they want so they don’t waste time digging for it. In the end, support costs go down and productivity goes up.”

The titles are available in major bookstores or directly from Microsoft Press ( http://mspress.microsoft.com/officexp ), and include hands-on tutorials packaged with fully functional software for beginning, intermediate and advanced users. Developers and IT professionals will find advanced programming references with source code and in-depth technical resources to help guide Office XP enterprise deployments. Scalable multimedia training is included in some of the titles to help administrators get their users up to speed. All the learning solutions are written in the clear, easy-to-understand style that has come to characterize instructional texts from Microsoft Press.
