REDMOND, Wash., July 18, 2001 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that Microsoft® Windows® Update, a popular consumer site for downloading the latest product updates for Windows, has been nominated for a Webby Award for technical achievement. The Webby Award is the leading international honor for achievement in technology and creativity as selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The Fifth Annual Webby Awards will take place today at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House.
Helping users get the most out of their computers, Microsoft Windows Update delivers over 60 million downloads per month of the most up-to-date and accurate versions of product fixes, updates and enhancements. Microsoft Windows Update provides updates worldwide and is available in 27 languages, making it one of the most globally accessible Web services.
