CyberSource and FAST Complete Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 Technical Integration Testing

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 27, 2002 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that CyberSource Corp., a leading provider of risk management and electronic payment solutions for enterprise businesses, and Fast Search & Transfer ASA (FAST), a leading developer of search and real-time alert technologies, are the newest independent software vendors (ISVs) to complete the Microsoft®
Commerce Server 2000 Technical Integration Testing. This raises to eight the number of ISVs that merit recognition for plug-in applications that work well with and fully take advantage of the functionality provided by Commerce Server 2000, and makes third-party applications more manageable, reliable and scalable for Commerce Server customers.

“Many e-commerce applications run well with Commerce Server, but few ISVs are up to the rigorous challenge of releasing products that conform to the specifications required to pass the Commerce Server integration testing,” said LJ Germinario, technical product manager for Commerce Server at Microsoft. “We commend these ISVs for meeting and exceeding our exacting standards to provide customers with the most reliable, manageable and easy-to-use products for running an e-commerce site.”

CyberSource is the first transaction processor to complete the Commerce Server 2000 integration testing and become a member of the 2002 Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Program for Software Products.

“We have taken great strides to ensure that businesses using Commerce Server 2000 can easily take advantage of the CyberSource Commerce Component without having to do extraneous development on their own,” said Dave Daetz, senior vice president of Corporate Business Development, Marketing and Product Management at CyberSource. “Customers benefit by knowing our product has been tested with Commerce Server 2000 and is proven to be scalable, reliable and manageable.”

FAST Data Search real-time alert and search technology also completed the Commerce Server 2000 integration testing, and offers seamless integration for businesses looking to solve the search and information retrieval challenges involved with e-commerce installations.

“By working with FAST, Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 has added a critical component for meeting the information demands of a wider range of e-commerce customers by delivering fully scalable integrated search and real-time alert solutions over a proven platform,” said John M. Lervik, CEO of FAST. “We are in an excellent position to help customers capitalize on Commerce Server 2000 functionality today and into the future.”

ISVs can submit their Commerce Server 2000 applications to VeriTest, an independent third-party test lab, to begin the technical integration testing process. VeriTest will test applications built on Commerce Server 2000 for integration, performance and supportability, allowing developers and support professionals to easily locate, analyze and solve potential problems.

So far, eight ISVs — CyberSource, Eprise Corp., Equilibrium, Fast Search & Transfer, Interact Commerce Corp., Mondosoft A/S, Ncompass Inc. and Visual Insights — have completed Commerce Server 2000 Technical Integration Testing.
