Microsoft at COMDEX Las Vegas 2003

REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 12, 2003 — Microsoft Corp. has planned the following press activities for COMDEX Las Vegas 2003, to be held Nov. 16–20.

Bill Gates’ Keynote Address

Bill Gates, Chairman and Chief Software Architect at Microsoft, will deliver his COMDEX Las Vegas 2003 keynote address at 7 p.m. PST Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Aladdin Resort & Casino Theatre.

Tickets for Bill Gates’ keynote address will be distributed only at the Aladdin Theatre box office, located in front of the Aladdin Theatre, on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Beginning Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., attendees, exhibitors, members of the media and speakers can pick up COMDEX badges (which they must have in order to get their ticket) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, there will be a satellite registration area in the Aladdin Resort on Sunday, Nov. 16, only for those attendees who do not already have their badges. The Microsoft Mobile Devices Division will participate in the MobileFocus press reception Sunday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Bellagio hotel and casino. At the event, representatives from the group will be demonstrating the latest Windows Mobile (TM) -based Pocket PCs and Smartphones.

Microsoft Booth Activities

A variety of activities will take place at the Microsoft booth, No. 5058, in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, at the exhibit entrance. In addition to demonstrating more than 60 Microsoft products and services, this year’s Microsoft exhibit will include over 44 unique partners featuring solutions designed to help customers get the most out of their Microsoft technology investments. All activities and presentations in the Microsoft booth will run throughout scheduled exhibitor hours. The Microsoft information desk will be located near the entrance to the Microsoft exhibit.

Grand Theater Presentations

The Grand Theater at the Microsoft booth will feature multiple scenarios related to improving business productivity and collaboration while managing a secure computing environment using Microsoft technologies.

Hands-On Labs

In a classroom environment, a hands-on lab will provide an opportunity for participants to take a guided tour of creating ASP.NET Web applications using Visual Studio®
.NET. Participants will be able to experience the full value of managing business information with the Microsoft Office System, which enables remote connectivity to Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook Web Access and using Windows Mobile-based devices, such as Smartphones. Product experts will be available for small-group training sessions.

Microsoft Pressroom

Microsoft’s pressroom will be located at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North 114. Further directions will be available at the information desk located near the entrance to the Microsoft exhibit.

Pressroom hours are as follows: Monday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; and Thursday, 9 a.m.–noon.
