FRx Software Announces Integration With Microsoft Business Solutions–Axapta

DENVER, Feb. 9, 2004 — FRx Software Corp., a Microsoft® company and a part of Microsoft Business Solutions, today announced the integration of Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics–FRx® , a financial reporting application, with Microsoft Business Solutions–Axapta® , an integrated business solution for global, upper-midmarket segment companies. This announcement follows similar, already successful integrations with Microsoft Business Solutions–Great Plains®
and Microsoft Business Solutions–Solomon.

“The strong reporting capabilities of Microsoft FRx, together with the power and flexibility of Microsoft Axapta, create an exciting offering that our customers have told us they are very interested in,” said Rolf Carlsen, group product manager at Microsoft Business Solutions. “With Microsoft FRx, our Microsoft Axapta customers can streamline their financial reporting processes across their entire organization and across multiple borders, giving them better insight into the financial health of their organization and potentially a significant competitive advantage in the customer segment.”

Microsoft Axapta is known for its adaptable architecture and its ability to support multilanguage, multicurrency environments for businesses in many industries. Microsoft Axapta helps companies optimize their supply chain and create efficient processes throughout their organization. It provides a broad range of tools to support a wide range of end-to-end business processes from production and distribution to sales and marketing, human resource management, and fixed asset management.

The new interface between Microsoft Axapta and Microsoft FRx strengthens the capabilities of customers looking to increase productivity and gain tighter control over their financial reporting practices. With electronic report distribution options and built-in accounting intelligence, Microsoft FRx can be implemented quickly to help companies achieve long-term growth.

“In our industry, the ability to make strategic decisions quickly can mean the difference between winning and losing,” said Gary Thompson, chief financial officer for Polytech Products, a Calgary, Alberta based manufacturing company specializing in products for the hydronic heating and potable water distribution industry. “Now, with the integration with Microsoft FRx, our Microsoft Axapta solution is even stronger and helps us create accurate and precise financial reports quickly. With more-succinct reporting capabilities, we can see how our business is operating from every angle — that’s information we can use to our advantage.”

Offered as an add-on module, Microsoft FRx integration with Microsoft Axapta leverages a dimension wizard, enabling Microsoft Axapta customers to take advantage of the platform’s dimensional table structure to create detailed reports. Microsoft FRx lets Microsoft Axapta customers gain valuable insight into their organization by creating accurate, regular and on-demand reports that break down financial performance by specific dimensions such as product line, plant, division and more. These dimensions help categorize financial and business data to provide a better understanding of the data.

“We believe FRx Software is a clear leader in the financial analytics market segment and continues to tackle important financial reporting challenges for midsize companies around the world,” said Ian Harrill, vice president at EnCompass Solutions Inc., a Microsoft reseller in Alberta, Canada. “We are excited to give our Microsoft Axapta customers the ability to use Microsoft FRx to simplify their reporting, reduce costs and take advantage of new challenges and opportunities that arise.”

Microsoft FRx integration with Microsoft Axapta is immediately available for customers in North America, the United Kingdom and Australia. This integration will be made available in additional countries later in 2004.
