Microsoft Business Solutions to Host Eighth Annual Microsoft Solution Conference for Customers

REDMOND, Wash., March 15, 2004 — Microsoft Business Solutions will host its annual North American customer conference, Convergence 2004, a four-day business and learning event, March 21–24 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Convergence is one of the premier customer events for Microsoft Corp., offering customers the opportunity to learn how to further leverage their Microsoft®
investment and providing a strong sense of community through interactions with industry leaders, Microsoft Business Solutions team members, business partners and other customers.

Doug Burgum, senior vice president at Microsoft; Orlando Ayala, senior vice president of the Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners group at Microsoft; and motivational speaker Todd Skinner will deliver keynote addresses to an anticipated 6,000 attendees, including customers, partners and team members. Skinner is an accomplished rock climber whose achievements have been documented in film and magazines in 12 languages. He will share the story of his first ascent of the East Face of Trango Tower, in the Baltoro region of Pakistan.

Convergence 2004 will offer attendees a unique opportunity to preview new productivity tools, see Microsoft Business Solutions applications and other Microsoft products in action, learn how to gain even greater value from the Microsoft solutions they use today, meet and network with other customers, and choose from an extensive menu of workshops developed to address the needs of an increasingly interconnected global marketplace.

Convergence 2004 also will feature the following events:

  • One hundred eleven educational sessions will help attendees enhance software knowledge and efficiency. Sessions will focus on professional skills, business development, e-business, technology and product-specific features; the sessions include real-life tips designed to help customers get the most out of their software and boost overall efficiency.

  • General sessions will outline the product strategy and vision of Microsoft Business Solutions–Axapta® , Microsoft Business Solutions–Great Plains® , Microsoft Great Plains–Navision®
    , Microsoft Business Solutions–Solomon and Microsoft Business Solutions CRM, as well as the Microsoft Office System.

  • The Convergence Expo will give attendees the opportunity to connect with more than 100 top Microsoft Business Solutions independent software vendors and alliance partners.

  • The Pinnacle Awards Ceremony will honor Microsoft Business Solutions customers from around the globe and recognize those who have achieved phenomenal success.
