Leading Social Services Agency Chooses Microsoft Dynamics GP to Help Meet Governmental Reporting Requirements, Interoperate With Wireless Solutions

REDMOND, Wash. — June 21, 2006 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that Valle del Sol, a Phoenix-based behavioral health and social services agency, has selected Microsoft Dynamics™ GP as the technology of choice for its new IT solution. The company, which employs more than 200 people in multiple locations, will roll out Microsoft Dynamics GP to streamline its overall business processes, enhance business intelligence and help meet strict governmental reporting requirements.

“We benefit from government support as a nonprofit agency, but this means we need highly dependable reporting and analysis tools to provide detail on how we utilize the public dollars we are awarded,” said Rick Berger, chief financial officer for Valle del Sol. “We evaluated a number of other vendors’ technologies, but none could compare with the power, flexibility and reporting capabilities that Microsoft Dynamics GP offers.”

Valle del Sol provides counseling, substance abuse treatment, prevention services, case management, leadership education, adolescent therapy and services for senior citizens. In addition to reporting, the organization required a solution that could seamlessly integrate with a highly functional third-party software package that allows Valle del Sol’s counselors and case workers in the field to access medical records and view and share other clinical data via wireless devices. The organization will also leverage Microsoft Business Portal, built on Windows SharePoint Services, to enhance its intranet and extranet capabilities and other Web services options.

“We’re happy to add Valle del Sol to our rapidly growing nonprofit customer community,” said Jon Pratt, senior director of product marketing for Dynamics GP at Microsoft. “Microsoft Dynamics products are highly customizable to meet the unique business and compliance needs of all types of organizations, with the flexibility to work with third-party applications that may already be in place. Microsoft Dynamics GP is nimble to provide functionality for customers in a wide spectrum of IT environments and industries.”

Microsoft Dynamics GP is a comprehensive and highly scalable business-management solution that offers a cost-effective way to manage and integrate finances, e-commerce, supply chain, manufacturing, project accounting, field service, customer relationships and human resources. Based on the familiar Microsoft Office interface, Microsoft Dynamics GP makes it easy for executives, managers and staff to access information that is meaningful to their specific role and responsibilities, gain deeper contextual insight into what key business drivers matter to their business, and improve efficiency throughout their organization. It’s also easy to configure and maintain, further adding to overall return on investment (ROI).

Sherwood Systems, a Phoenix-based Gold Certified Microsoft Partner, will implement Valle del Sol’s new Microsoft Dynamics GP technology solution. The company’s deep knowledge of Microsoft’s technology platform was essential in identifying the right technology solution for Valle del Sol’s business needs.

“Our customers depend on us to recommend the products that will best meet their business needs with the most ease of use and at the best value,” said Ed Bonaski, sales director for Sherwood Systems. “We have developed a practice centered on Microsoft Dynamics GP because it’s the technology we believe offers the greatest ability to deliver on this goal to the greatest breadth of customers. This allows us to offer, not just recommend, what we feel is the best vendor product on the market and also provide an exceptional amount of expertise in how to best deploy this solution for each unique business environment.”
