Media Alert: Microsoft to Comment on European Commission Announcement

BRUSSELS, Belgium — Oct. 7, 2009

What: Today the European Commission announced its decision to market test a set of measures that Microsoft Corp. has offered to address competition law issues relating to Internet Explorer and Windows, and also welcomed Microsoft’s updated proposals concerning interoperability.

Brad Smith, Microsoft senior vice president and general counsel, will host a press teleconference call at 4 a.m. PDT on Oct. 7, 2009, to discuss the implications of today’s news.
