Well before 2007, YF International used Windows Embedded CE and Windows Embedded NavReady to bring the latest in high-tech innovation to software systems featured on Portable Navigation Devices (PNDs), GPS and in-dash car navigation working with leading manufacturers like CSR/SiRF, Samsung, Freescale and Intel, to name a few.
As one of the largest design houses in China, YF International has won numerous accolades for its work around consumer electronics, manufacturing/warehousing and telecommunications. Winner of the 2009 Design House of the Year, the company produced over 30 PNDs and currently houses more than 200 R&D engineers working to create the most top-of-line devices while continuing to rapidly climb the industry ladder despite being launched less than a decade ago.
Partnering with Windows Embedded has enabled YF International to produce an array of diverse and highly functional PNDs. Take its model PA02-5002, for example.
YF International’s PA02-5002 PND
Using the power and connectivity of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3, this unique device features multiple channels for users to connect to the environment around them. With built in GPS, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and flash up to 16 GB, the PA02-5002 enables users to get real-time traffic information, locate relevant “hot spots” around them, upload photos to the Internet, access calendars and phonebooks — the possibilities are endless. By coupling the features provided by Windows Embedded CE with the latest advancements in portable navigation, YF International successfully launched this product along with over a dozen others at the 2010 China Sourcing Fair this past April.
With in-dash telematics products a strong focus for the company moving into the future, it’s no doubt that Windows Embedded will continue to play a pivotal role in the production of new navigation systems and other specialized device solutions emerging in this highly-competitive market.
