Exclusive event reveals how Data Insight and Smart City Solutions can successfully deliver innovation and growth
Hong Kong – 16 November, 2016 – Microsoft today brought together its experts in the areas of data, intelligent systems and Smart City Solutions at an exclusive industry event in Hong Kong that offered attendees critical insight into the transformative potential of data. The event attracted over 100 channel partners and potential customers keen to experience the latest Microsoft solutions.
According to a recent study conducted by Microsoft, 88% of business leaders polled in Asia agree it is important for their organization to have an agile, data-driven business. When enterprises make better sense of their data, the insights they receive can transform their company and drive better business outcomes.
The Microsoft Experience // Data Insights technology showcase effectively demonstrated how Microsoft is empowering businesses to bring their data to life and to take the next step in their data journey toward intelligent action. It also highlighted how Microsoft is helping cities transform their operations and citizen services in order to foster economic development with a people-first approach.
The event featured a keynote address by John Nisi, Worldwide Services Chief Technology Officer for Data Insights, Microsoft Corp. who said, “The use of intelligent systems is helping business and government to reimagine their value chain.” He added, “Modern businesses faced with economic uncertainty and disruptive competitors can leverage analytics and predictive data to create new revenue streams and opportunities that will allow them to thrive in the digital era.”
Mr Nisi was joined by Fred Sheu, National Technology Officer, Microsoft Hong Kong, who explained how Microsoft’s CityNext empowers cities to digitally transform and unlock fresh potential, by delivering innovative digital services to ensure their citizens enjoy healthier lives and access to high-quality education and other critical needs.
Mr Sheu said, “Together with our partners, we can transform a city’s operations and infrastructure, engage citizens and accelerate innovation to create truly sustainable cities — where citizens, businesses and governments work alongside one another for a better tomorrow. For example, two critical components of any smart city are machine learning and IoT, which we are proud to offer to our partners via our much-heralded Azure cloud platform.”
