An artist’s eye on IFA

With all eyes turning to Berlin this weekend for IFA, the world’s largest consumer tech fair, we decided to send German artist Silan Bekjarov to the event with Microsoft’s Surface 3 and the Surface Pen, to bring the show to you! Why an artist, you ask…? To show that with Surface, anyone can unleash their inner artist and create beautiful illustrations as though it’s their very own old-school analog sketchbook.

Silan’s mission over the next few days is to cover IFA from an artist’s perspective and draw pictures on the Surface to capture the atmosphere and action at the show. You’ll find his first drawing at the top of this page, and more will be added both here and on our Twitter feed using the hashtags #WindowsToIFA and #IFA15.

Microsoft is participating in this year’s event to continue to tell the story of how Windows 10 can help people all over the world achieve more through technology with a keynote by Nick Parker, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) division. This time, the focus is on our hardware partners and the new devices they’ll be unveiling to bring some of the best features of Windows 10 to life for millions of people on the planet.

Follow Silan Bekjarov’s journey through IFA with regular updates throughout Friday and Saturday. And be sure to check back here or on Twitter around 16:00 CEST on Friday for images of Nick’s keynote, which will have just finished. Silan will also be sharing his interpretation of Microsoft and OEM partner booths and various other events throughout the show.

And, if his illustrations inspire you to pick up a digital pen and start creating, you can find out more here about the Surface 3 – and how it combines style and function to be the perfect device for both work and play.
