Microsoft Signs Major Promotion And Distribution Agreement to Distribute Microsoft Internet Explorer as Part of AT&T

REDMOND, Wash. and BRIDGEWATER, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 25, 1996– AT & T and Microsoft today announced that they have agreed to jointly promote and distribute Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer 3.0 with AT & T WorldNet Service starting in early fall.

AT & T WorldNet Service will be included as part of Microsoft Windows(R) 95 software pre-loaded in computers that begin shipping later this year. AT & T WorldNet Service will also be included in future retail versions of Windows 95. In addition, AT & T will offer Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 3.0 on the installation CDs and floppies to customers of AT & T WorldNet Service beginning this fall.

Customers pay $2.50 for each hour beyond the five. Under a separate plan, AT & T customers may opt for a flat monthly rate of $19.95 for unlimited access.
