Microsoft Office 97 Family of Applications Honored With Industry Awards

NEW YORK, June 18, 1997 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that Microsoft® Office 97 and several desktop applications garnered top industry awards at the PC Expo convention in New York. Office 97, Professional Edition was honored with the following awards:

  • The PC World World Class Award for Best Application Suite

  • The PC World World Class Award for Most Promising Newcomer in Software

  • The First Annual Windows Sources Expert’s Choice Award for Best Productivity Suite

These awards are in addition to the many honors that Office 97 has already been given by industry leaders, including the following:

  • PC Magazine Editors Choice – February 1997

  • BYTE 1997 Editors Choice – January 1997

  • PC Week Analysts Choice – December 1996

  • Windows Sources Stellar Award – November 1996

  • BYTE’s Comdex Best of Show Award – November 1996
