REDMOND, Wash., June 16, 1998 — Microsoft Corp. today announced plans to ship three new collections early this fall: Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus
™
Adventure Series Volumes 1, 2 and 3. Designed to help retailers deliver compelling, high-quality software to consumers during the back-to-school sales season, each of the collections will feature two of the popular, award-winning Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus CD-ROMs.

  • Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus Adventure Series Volume 1 includes The Magic School Bus Explores in the Age of Dinosaurs and The Magic School Bus Explores the Earth.

  • Volume 2 includes The Magic School Bus Explores the Rainforest and The Magic School Bus Explores the Ocean.

“The Magic School Bus Adventure Series is a win-win for both retailers and consumers,”
said Lisa Brummel, kids general manager in the interactive media group at Microsoft.
“High-quality, well-priced software should drive sales for retailers, and parents will appreciate the opportunity to acquire award-winning educational software at a great price.”

Based on Scholastic’s award-winning book series and television show, each CD-ROM title in Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus Adventure Series features the irrepressible science teacher Ms. Frizzle and her inquisitive class as they explore science and technology in a way that blends learning opportunities with entertaining adventures.

Praised by parents and educators, the CD-ROM series has been a top seller year after year.
