MSN Sidewalk and EarthCam Launch Live Network of Web Cameras

REDMOND, Wash., April 14, 1999 — The MSN
™Sidewalk® online guide and EarthCam have teamed up to launch a network of coast-to-coast EarthCams that will provide live access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to some of the most popular attractions in the country. Internet users will get a local perspective on things to do, places to go and people to see by viewing the 10 EarthCams in eight cities.

EarthCams have been installed in Atlanta; Los Angeles (two); Miami (two); Orange County, (Calif.); Orlando, Fla.; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco; and San Jose, Calif. Each of the 10 EarthCams will show continuous action, from the sandy coastline of Daytona Beach, Fla., to behind the scenes at the No. 1 radio station in Los Angeles, KIIS-FM.

“MSN Sidewalk is designed to help consumers make great decisions about what to buy and where to go,” said Gayle Troberman, group product manager, MSN Sidewalk. “These new webcams help bring local points of interest into focus for online consumers so they can see in real time what’s happening in cities around the country.”
