Microsoft Announces Agreement With Lan Plus

REDMOND, Wash., July 14, 1999 — Microsoft Corp. today announced an agreement with PC manufacturer Lan Plus Inc. to resell MSN TM Internet Access. The agreement comes on the heels of the June 1999 Inverse Network Technology Benchmark Report, in which MSN Internet Access outranked the competition and received

said Rob Bennett, group product manager for the Consumer and Commerce Group at Microsoft.
“The recent accolades are a result of our investment in the access business, and with agreements like the one with Lan Plus we can help more and more consumers get online and explore the Web.”

As a result of this agreement, Lan Plus, through its ePCdirect division, is offering a promotion for consumers to receive a 400 MHz PC when they sign up for a 36-month contract with MSN Internet Access. Consumers can receive their PC system and the unlimited MSN Internet Access service when they prepay $17.99 a month for the 36-month period.
