EDS and TransPoint Alliance Opens Major New E-Bills Channel

PLANO, Texas, and ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 7, 2000 — EDS and TransPoint LLC today announced an agreement that will offer expanded e-bills services to the companies’ clients nationwide. With this agreement, EDS offers its clients a competitive advantage in electronic bill payment and presentment (EBPP) by becoming a reseller of the TransPoint TM service, as well as a bill processor for EDS clients that plan to work with TransPoint.

“The alliance makes it even easier for major service enterprises – the financial institutions, telcos and utilities – to obtain an Internet billing solution,”
said Michael Killen, chairman of Killen & Associates, the leading provider of business intelligence in the EBPP space.
“This opens the EDS customer base to TransPoint, and it should serve to increase the effectiveness of both organizations in the marketplace.”

“This joint effort demonstrates our commitment to giving our clients the widest latitudes and best channels to deliver business and consumer bills to their customers,”
said Chris Carrington, Americas president for the EDS E.solutions business line.
“Expanding our relationship with TransPoint pairs our systems integration expertise and Web-billing savvy with TransPoint’s superior e-bills technology.”

EDS currently participates in TransPoint’s Technology Associate Program. TransPoint Technology Associates work with billers to help create bill templates, extract bill data from a company’s existing system, deliver e-bills and receive payments through TransPoint.

“This agreement will take to new heights our already productive relationship with EDS as a bill processor and reseller of TransPoint services,”
said Ralph Young, executive vice president, TransPoint.
“EDS will be an important part of TransPoint’s efforts to speed billers to market and make e-bills accessible to everyone across the country.”

EDS Interactive Billing Services premiered in August 1998, establishing the company as one of the first major players in the EBPP industry. EDS works with global billing clients in the credit card, telecommunications and financial services industries, delivering business-to-business and business-to-consumer bills. EDS is working with high-profile clients in the United States, such as MCI WorldCom Inc. and Bank One Corp., and is currently the only large-scale integrator operating in Europe.
