REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 13, 2000 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that it has acquired U.S. patent number 5,655,089 from computer consultant Joseph J. Bucci. The patent protects electronic payments technology that will be integrated into future Microsoft initiatives.
The patent was issued to Bucci on Aug. 5, 1997. Bucci, a resident of Orlando, Fla., and Hazlet, N.J., specializes in the management, analysis, design and development of computer systems on a wide variety of platforms. For the last 26 years, Bucci has been providing innovative business solutions for many small and large companies.
