REDMOND, Wash., June 4, 2002 — MSN® eShop, part of the MSN network of Internet services, is now the only shopping site to give bargain hunters around the United States an easy and free way to instantaneously find out about special sales and deals, no matter where they are. With new MSN Shopping Alerts, people will be instantly notified about exclusive sales, discounts and giveaways from MSN eShop retailers. With the service, available immediately, shoppers can receive alerts in their MSN Hotmail® service account, via MSN Messenger Service, and even on their Web-enabled phones, Web-enabled Pocket PCs and Handspring PDAs through MSN Mobile.

Shoppers can visit http://alerts.eshop.msn.com/ today to choose the type of alerts they want to receive, and they can customize when and how those alerts are delivered. Available alerts include the following:

  • MSN Exclusive Alerts flag exclusive deals, sales and giveaways for MSN shoppers only from participating MSN eShop retailers such as Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Cooking.com.

  • Bargain
    Alerts notify shoppers of bargains and seasonal sales from participating MSN eShop retailers.

  • Seasonal Shopping
    Alerts provide tips, specials and great gift ideas for special holidays and events throughout the year, such as graduation and Father’s Day.

  • Prior to its broad release, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s new line of stainless steel cookware, Emerilware Stainless, will be offered exclusively to eShop shoppers on June 13 by eShop retailer, CHEF’S (chefscatalog.com). Shoppers will also receive a free four-piece set of Emerilware cooking tools when they purchase the cookware on MSN eShop.
