REDMOND, Wash., June 18, 2002 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that its premier partner event of the year, Fusion 2002, will take place July 1215 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. More than 3,000 Microsoft partners are expected at this years event, which will feature go-to-market plans for
“success together”
announced by Microsoft vice presidents in key solution areas, preview Microsofts technology evolution for the next six to 18 months, highlight the latest on partner revenue opportunities within the solution areas, and provide updates on sales engagement. Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer will keynote the event.
Now in its sixth year, Fusion is an integral component of Microsofts ongoing commitment to partners. This years event has been expanded to four days, based on last years attendee feedback. The increased timeframe is designed to better provide partners with information about revenue opportunities and support available to them from Microsoft, as well as showcase key new products and programs and increase partner networking opportunities.

In addition to Steve Ballmers keynote, Fusion 2002 will feature presentations by Orlando Ayala, group vice president of the Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services Group; Bill Veghte, corporate vice president of the Windows .NET Server Group; Lindsay Sparks, corporate vice president of Small and Medium Business; and Ralph Young, vice president of the Enterprise Solutions and Industry Group. Along with the newly redesigned Partner Marketplace, featuring more than 100 partner sponsors and exhibitors, attendees can participate in more than 100 hands-on-labs providing intensive experience in key solution areas such as Microsoft® .NET, Visual Studio® .NET and Windows® XP.
