Microsoft Names Lizabeth Chimenti to Position of Automotive Industry Manager

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., August 7, 2002 — Microsoft Corporation today announced the appointment of Lizabeth Chimenti to the newly created position of Automotive Industry Manager.

“Liz will help to define the new position with her comprehensive understanding of the issues that the automotive industry faces along with her expertise in how technology can help to address those issues,” stated Great Lakes General Manager Scott Carlton. “She is very passionate about the auto industry, and the technology industry at large, and will be instrumental in bridging the gap between the industries.”

Chimenti, with over 20 years of business and industry experience primarily in the automotive sector, will develop and implement Microsoft’s Automotive/Industrial Equipment Strategic initiatives.

Before joining Microsoft, Chimenti served as acting vice president and director of marketing communications, public relations and business analysis for Venture Industries, a Tier One plastics manufacturer and supplier. Prior to that, Chimenti held the positions of senior buyer for forgings and public relations and communications manager at New Venture Gear, a Tier One powertrain/driveline manufacturer and supplier owned jointly by DaimlerChrylser and General Motors.

Chimenti received her bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University and her master’s degree in international administration from Central Michigan University.
