Boys & Girls Clubs of America Honors Microsoft with “Champion of Youth” Award

NEW YORK, June 5, 2008 – On June 4, Microsoft was honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with the “Champion of Youth” award at the Clubs’ annual gala dinner in New York City.

The award, accepted by Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer, recognizes the 10 years of partnership between Microsoft and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. One of the featured programs is the Club Tech initiative, a collaboration between Microsoft and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Club Tech program is designed to equip the nation’s youth with vital skills and experience to successfully compete academically and to prepare for a 21st century workforce.

Microsoft has invested approximately US$153 million to date in the Club Tech program, providing better access to technology and enabling Club members at over 3,000 Boys & Girls Clubs around the world to reach their full potential.
