Silicon Valley office redesigned

Silicon Valley office redesigned

Microsoft embarked on a makeover of its 32-acre Silicon Valley campus with a vision of greater sustainability.

Designed to address growing demand for limited water and energy resources, the upgrades to the 643,000-square-foot Mountain View campus included a four-acre living roof, a theater, floor-to-ceiling windows, a fitness center and healthy food options.

Built with sustainably sourced timber, the revamped campus will derive energy from solar panels and be the first tech campus with zero water certification, meaning all of its non-potable water will come from rainwater or recycled water instead of reservoirs.
