Microsoft appoints new Corporate Vice-President for Asia Pacific

Ralph Haupter joins from Greater China region, with focus on helping customers accelerate their digital transformation

Ralph Haupter LRSingapore, July 1, 2016 – Microsoft today announced Ralph Haupter as the new Corporate Vice-President of its Asia Pacific region. In his new role, Haupter will lead Microsoft’s business in Asia Pacific which includes 12 subsidiaries in 39 territories and countries, over 3,000 employees, and 100,000 partners.

He will be responsible for all of Microsoft’s product, service and support offerings across the region, and accelerating the company’s current transformation to being the leading productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first era.

A key area of focus for Haupter will be enabling Microsoft’s customers in Asia Pacific to accelerate momentum, as they embark on their own journey of digital transformation.

Haupter joins the Asia Pacific region after four successful years as Corporate Vice-President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Greater China Region, based in Beijing. A Microsoft veteran of 11 years, before his role in China, Haupter served as Vice-President of Microsoft Germany. Prior to that, he was head of Microsoft’s Partner division for Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa, and General Manager of Microsoft’s Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group for Western Europe. Before joining Microsoft, Haupter worked for IBM both in Germany and internationally.

Haupter succeeds Cesar Cernuda who served as Area Vice-President of Microsoft Asia Pacific for three years and has been promoted to Corporate Vice-President of Microsoft Latin America, based in Fort Lauderdale.

Haupter will be relocating, with his wife and two children, to Singapore and will commence his new role on July 1, 2016.
