As the President of Microsoft Asia, Ralph Haupter leads Microsoft’s business in a dynamic region that includes 17 subsidiaries in 42 territories and countries, over 20,000 employees, and over 100,000 partners.
He is responsible for all of Microsoft’s product, service and support offerings across the region, and accelerating the company’s current transformation to being the leading productivity and platform company for an era of intelligent cloud and intelligent edge.
A key area of focus for Haupter is enabling Microsoft’s customers in Asia to accelerate momentum, as they embark on their own journey of digital transformation.
He is passionate about empowering Asia’s digital ambitions and envisions a near future where AI is accessible and valuable to every individual and organization, making us work, live and play better and smarter.
Haupter joined the Asia region and moved to Singapore in July 2016, after four successful years as corporate vice-president, chairman, and chief executive officer of Microsoft Greater China Region, based in Beijing. A Microsoft veteran of 11 years, before his role in China, Haupter served as vice-president of Microsoft Germany. Prior to that, he was head of Microsoft’s Partner division for Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa, and general manager of Microsoft’s Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group for Western Europe. Before joining Microsoft, Haupter worked for IBM both in Germany and internationally.
Born in Markdorf, Germany, Haupter received a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in 1992 and 1998, respectively. He is married with two children. In his spare time, Haupter is fond of skiing and sailing and has been a semi professional musician for over a decade.
