Ricky Kapur is the vice president of Sales, Marketing and Operations, Microsoft Asia Pacific.
An IT industry veteran of over 25 years, Kapur has a long and distinguished leadership career in APAC. Before joining Microsoft, Kapur was managing director for Google’s Cloud Platform business in Asia-Pacific and, prior to that, led its Google For Work organization. At Google he was responsible for sales, operations and partnership development across one of the fastest-growing regions in the world.
Kapur has also served as vice president for Oracle’s Technology Business for ASEAN, as well as held leadership roles at Siebel and business analytics provider, SAS. His passion lies in helping large businesses recognize the potential of new technologies to drive innovation in their respective industries, and ultimately spearhead creative solutions for their customers.
With a rich portfolio of technologies across devices, applications, platforms and a deep understanding of how to serve the enterprise, Kapur believes that Microsoft is one of the few technology companies who can integrate this value for the enterprise, and has the vision and resources to be a top contributor in the future of computing around wearables, the Internet of Things, virtual reality, and more.
Kapur is married with two kids, one of whom is an accomplished coder, giving him insight into how the next generation of developers thinks about creating new innovative platforms. Kapur’s passions includes running, where one of his most recent accomplishments was having completed the Tokyo full marathon in February 2015.
He has a Master in Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and is a certified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India.
