Justin Spelhaug is the general manager of Marketing & Operations at Microsoft Asia Pacific. He leads all marketing activities and operations for Microsoft across Asia Pacific, including the overall orchestration of regional Go-To-Market sales. He is also responsible for the revenue, market share and profit-and-loss performance of all Microsoft business groups for the region.
Spelhaug has 17 years of experience at Microsoft and in the broader technology industry. He joined Microsoft in 1997 as a group program manager and has since been in several leadership positions within the organization, both in the United States and Asia. He is particularly motivated by the positive impact which technology can have on the future and on the lives of individuals.
Prior to his current appointment, Spelhaug was the general manager of Microsoft’s Operations Service Group, where he led a range of global services including product launches and the implementation of commercial programs. Previously, he was the senior director of Business Development and Strategy in Microsoft’s Startup Business Group, where he helped to launch multiple startups focused on delivering low-cost computing solutions to emerging markets.
Spelhaug started his career in the United States Marine Corps where he led a combat logistics unit and attained numerous Naval Achievement medals.
Spelhaug earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in society, ethics and human behaviour from the University of Washington. In his spare time, Spelhaug likes to travel the world in search of new experiences and cultures with his family. He loves the outdoors and enjoys both sailing and skiing.
