‘Code Hunt,’ free game for anyone interested in coding, released by Microsoft Research

The game uses puzzles that players explore using clues presented as test cases, then modify their code to match the functional behavior of secret solutions. Once players’ code matches, lights flash and sounds play, letting players know that they have “captured” the code.

For instance, if you want to find out who discovered aspirin, or the risks associated with it, or its chemical formula, a search yields a quick rundown of a given drug directly within the Snapshot frame. Or, what if you’re looking for the number of calories in a banana, or how much vitamin C and magnesium it has? Bing now displays nutritional information for common foods directly in the Snapshot experience – like you’d find on the side of a box.
