Microsoft hat Übernahme von GitHub für 7,5 Milliarden US-Dollar angekündigt

Microsoft hat seine Pläne zur Übernahme der Online-Plattform GitHub angekündigt, auf der mehr als 85 Millionen sog. Repositories gemeinsam an Softwareprojekten arbeiten, Quellcode teilen und ihr Wissen weitergeben. Die Übernahme der Plattform für 7,5 Milliarden US-Dollar (ca. 6,4 Milliarden Euro) in Microsoft-Aktien soll bis Ende 2018 abgeschlossen sein.

„Microsoft ist eine ‚developer-first company‘“, so Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO. „Wir geben alles, um jeden Entwickler dazu zu befähigen, innovative Lösungen zu bauen mit, denen wir die drängendsten Herausforderungen unserer Zeit bewältigen“. Ziel von Microsoft und GitHub ist es, Entwickler dabei zu unterstützen, über den gesamten Entwicklungsprozess hinweg noch erfolgreicher zu sein, die Nutzung von GitHub im Unternehmensumfeld voranzutreiben und die Microsoft Entwicklertools neuen Zielgruppen noch einfacher zugänglich zu machen. Microsoft ist weltweit das aktivste Unternehmen auf GitHub mit mehr als 2 Millionen Beiträgen, den sog. „Commits“, zu den verschiedensten Softwareprojekten.

Im Webcast, erläutern Satya Nadella, Microsoft EVP und CFO Amy Hood sowie Nat Friedman, zukünftiger GitHub CEO und Chris Wanstrath, CEO und Co-Gründer bei GitHub die Hintergründe und strategischen Ziele der Übernahme.

Microsoft annonce de nouveaux PC Surface pour entreprises boostés à l’IA

Nous sommes ravis d’annoncer aujourd’hui nos premiers PC Surface boostés à l’IA et pensés exclusivement pour les entreprises : les Surface Pro 10 et Surface Laptop 6, qui seront disponibles à partir d’avril 2024. Ces PC ont été conçus pour intégrer les fonctionnalités demandées par les professionnels : optimisation pour Copilot, une connectique revisitée, un lecteur NFC1, un focus mis sur les performances et la sécurité avec les derniers processeurs Intel Core Ultra et intégrant un NPU (Neural Processor unit ou unité de traitement neuronal) permettant d’alimenter les expériences d’IA (économisant l’usage de la batterie, du CPU et du GPU).
