UBS and Microsoft partner to advance AI in banking

UBS, Switzerland’s leading universal Bank, is expanding its use of artificial intelligence with Microsoft Azure AI solutions across five divisions to enhance client advisory services and operational efficiency. The bank has developed UBS Red, an AI assistant powered by Azure AI Search and Azure OpenAI Service, that gives advisors instant access to investment insights and market intelligence.

A key milestone in the collaboration is the digitization of 60,000 investment documents, making them easily searchable for client advisors. This has simplified research and meeting preparation, improving response times and decision-making. UBS has also introduced an AI Hub and a data mesh framework to support the broader implementation of AI across its operations.

With AI solutions now deployed across five divisions, UBS is strengthening its digital infrastructure while addressing key challenges such as AI risk governance and scalability. The initiative marks a step forward in the financial sector’s adoption of AI, offering a model for other institutions navigating digital transformation.
