Catrin Hinkel

Catrin Hinkel ist Corporate Vice President und CEO von Microsoft Schweiz. Sie hat diese Funktion im Mai 2021 übernommen. Hinkel, die seit mehr als 25 Jahren in der Tech-Branche in verschiedenen Organisationen und unterschiedlichen Kulturen tätig ist, setzt sich für die Entwicklung von Technologien als Lösung für viele Herausforderungen der Welt, für Innovation und Nachhaltigkeit ein. Bevor sie zu Microsoft kam, hatte Hinkel wichtige Funktionen bei Accenture inne, zuletzt als Senior Managing Director, Europe Cloud First Strategy & Consulting Lead. 

Gemeinsam mit ihrem Team bei Microsoft ist sie stets auf der Höhe der Zeit, wenn es um neue Trends, Ideen und Themen geht. Das Ziel: wirkungsvolle digitale (Cloud-)Transformationsstrategien und Partnerschaften für Kunden in der Schweiz und darüber hinaus voranzutreiben. Hinkel ist der festen Überzeugung, dass Technologie Unternehmen in die Lage versetzt, ihre grössten Herausforderungen zu lösen, nachhaltiges Wachstum zu fördern und neue Geschäftsmodelle zu schaffen, die darauf zielen unsere Lebens – und Arbeitswelten zu verbessern. 

Hinkel ist Mitglied des Exekutivkomitees von Digital Switzerland sowie des Vorstands des Branchenverbands ASUT. 2024 wurde sie in den Verwaltungsrat von Holcim berufen und ist dort Mitglied des Ausschusses für Gesundheit, Sicherheit und Nachhaltigkeit. Seit Herbst 2025 ist sie Mitglied des Board of Trustees von Deep Tech Nation Switzerland.

Hinkel hat einen Bachelor of Arts von der Hochschule Reutlingen (European Business School Reutlingen und London). Sie wird auch für ihr Engagement im Bereich der digitalen Innovation gewürdigt, beispielsweise durch die Ernennung zu einer der Digital Shapers 2022 der Schweiz durch das Bilanz-Magazin und als eine der Top 100 durch die Zeitschrift Women in Business.

Hinkel, qui a passé plus de 25 ans dans le secteur de la tech au sein de différentes organisations et cultures, s’engage pour le développement de technologies comme solution à de nombreux défis mondiaux, pour l’innovation et la durabilité. Avant de rejoindre Microsoft, Hinkel a occupé d’importantes fonctions chez Accenture, la dernière étant celle de Senior Managing Director, Europe Cloud First Strategy & Consulting Lead. 

Avec son équipe chez Microsoft, elle est toujours à la pointe des nouvelles tendances, idées et thèmes. Son objectif : promouvoir des stratégies de transformation numérique (en cloud) efficaces et des partenariats pour les clients en Suisse et au-delà. Hinkel est fermement convaincu que la technologie permet aux entreprises de résoudre leurs plus grands défis, de promouvoir une croissance durable et de créer de nouveaux modèles commerciaux qui améliorent notre vie et notre travail. 

Hinkel est membre du comité exécutif de Digital Switzerland ainsi que du conseil d’administration de l’association sectorielle ASUT. En 2024, elle a été nommée au conseil d’administration de Holcim, où elle siège également au comité Santé, sécurité et développement durable. Depuis l’automne 2025, elle est membre du Board of Trustees de Deep Tech Nation Switzerland.

Hinkel est titulaire d’un Bachelor of Arts de l’université de Reutlingen (European Business School Reutlingen et Londres). Elle est également reconnue pour son engagement en faveur de l’innovation numérique, notamment parce qu’elle a été désignée comme l’un des Digital Shapers 2022 de la Suisse par le magazine suisse Bilanz et comme l’un des Top 100 de la publication Women in Business. 

Catrin Hinkel serves as Corporate Vice President and CEO of Microsoft Switzerland. She assumed the role in May 2021. Having spent more than 25 years in the tech industry across a variety of organizations and diverse cultures, Hinkel champions technology development as a solution to many challenges in the world, innovation as well as sustainability. Prior to joining Microsoft, Hinkel held notable roles at Accenture, most recently as Senior Managing Director, Europe Cloud First Strategy & Consulting Lead. 

With her team at Microsoft, she is driven by staying on the cutting edge of new trends, ideas and themes to further impactful digital (cloud) transformation strategies and partnerships for customers in Switzerland and beyond needed to get the job done. She is a strong believer that technology enables organizations to solve their biggest challenges, drive sustainable growth and create new business models that improve the way we live and work. 

Hinkel is a member of the Executive Committee of Digital Switzerland and the ASUT Industry Association Board. In 2024, she became a member of Holcim’s Board of Directors, where she also serves on the Health, Safety & Sustainability Committee. Since autumn 2025, she has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Deep Tech Nation Switzerland.

Hinkel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Reutlingen (European Business School Reutlingen and London). She is also recognized for her commitment to digital innovation, including being named one of Switzerland’s Digital Shapers 2022 by Swiss Bilanz magazine and as one of the Top 100 by Women in Business magazine.
