Microsoft announces Express Data as a Value Added Distributor for Unified Communications

19 March, 2013 | Sydney, Australia

SYDNEY, Australia — March 19, 2013 — Today, Microsoft announced that Express Data has become a Value Added Distributor (VAD) for Unified communications (UC), the first distributor to be recognised in this category by Microsoft Australia. Express Data’s achieved this through its demonstrated commitment to Microsoft’s Unified Communications platform, by going above and beyond in customer service and from its passion for showcasing the platform to customers and partners through innovative experiences.

“We look for distributors who share our passion for good customer and reseller satisfaction, through great customer service, reseller education and an ability to drive great long term relationships- Express Data embodied all of these,” said Carolyn Darke, Microsoft SMB distribution and channel manager.

“We spend a lot of time with distributors and partners to ensure we are building technical and licensing capability within the channel. Express Data helped us scale this capability into the channel through extensive training and program execution and our partnership will enable Microsoft to demonstrate this opportunity to the broad partner audience,” continued Darke.

Microsoft said that Express Data had demonstrated it was well placed to provide the highest level of support and guidance for the Microsoft partner community: “It also allows Microsoft Partners to help their customers drive greater productivity through new world or work scenarios, whilst helping them realise the additional opportunities within their existing customer base,” said Darke.

“Express Data is thrilled to be the first Australian distributor to be appointed as Microsoft’s VAD for Unified Communications. We’re proud to be continually investing time and resources to educate and engage our wide breadth of channel partners, having heavily invested in technical expertise around UC as we believe it is an area of critical growth for the channel,” said Peter Masters, director of Marketing and Vendors, Express Data. “Microsoft’s immersion program has been a huge success for our business and is a testament to the strong partnership and commitment Express Data has with Microsoft.”

Express Data was the recipient of the 2012 Microsoft Australia Partner Award for Distributor of the Year.
