Bing Reveals the moments that moved us in 2015

Sydney, Australia, Dec. 4, 2015 – From Netflix to nudity, from rugby to royalty – the year’s top search trends showed sport and celebrity really clicked with Australians in 2015.

The top trends from Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, showcase the moments that moved us throughout the year, with the Rugby World Cup taking the coveted top search spot.

The Cricket World Cup, Jarryd Hayne and State of Origin rounded out the sporting flavour in the Top 10, while we searched in great numbers for Princess Charlotte, Taylor Swift, and Kim Kardashian, along with a naughty look at Justin Bieber.

And nestling nicely in second place amongst this galaxy of brawn, beauty and Bieber fever was a surprise newcomer, the content streaming service Netflix gained the lion’s share of interest in the highly competitive video on demand market.

But 2015 was also a year shaped by impactful moments of inspiration and hope, to moments of shared tragedy and pain. From the Nepal earthquake, to the tragedy that rallied the world in support of Paris, there were people who captured our hearts, and those who challenged us to rethink our views of the world.
