Cloud business platform primes SMBs for growth and success

SYDNEY – July 09, 2018 – Microsoft is today launching Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Australia and New Zealand. An intelligent cloud-based solution designed specifically for SMBs to help them manage finances, operations, sales and customer service – Business Central also serves as an easy upgrade opportunity for businesses which have outgrown their entry level accounting systems and legacy ERP.

The solution, which integrates with other Microsoft cloud services including Office 365, strips away complexity from day to day business functions and can be customised where required using PowerApps, Microsoft Flow and Power BI.

Business Central’s arrival could not come at a better time according to new research which reveals that although many local SMBs are facing challenging business conditions, almost half are expecting to grow in the coming 1-2 years and recognise the impact that intelligent business software can have on operations.

According to the survey of 300 Australian small and medium business, conducted by YouGov Galaxy, 74 per cent believe that increasing the customer base is the best way to grow the business, with 60 per cent also saying maintaining and growing existing customers is a priority.

They also recognise that meeting customer expectations is a key driver for digital transformation.

Right now however fewer than half of Australia’s SMBs are making use of business application software – signalling an opportunity gap. SMBs that exploit the efficiency and insight dividend that comes from well-designed business solutions which help them respond to shifting customer needs and expectations will be best placed for success.

Forward thinking SMBs are now making a move and a third of survey respondents said they are already or are planning to evaluate their business software options over the next 12 months.

Early adopters will have an advantage according to Michael O’Keefe, Business Applications Group Lead for Microsoft Australia; “Australian SMBs are looking to grow. They recognise the value that business software can have in terms of making them more efficient and responsive to customer needs. Business Central has been designed specifically for these organisations.

“This is a cloud-based solution that can grow with the business. It offers end-to-end functionality – and a far more comprehensive suite of capabilities than many of the entry level accounting systems. Business Central is highly intuitive, cost effective, and it integrates neatly with other business solutions such as Office 365 and Power BI to provide end to end business transformation opportunity.”

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers:

  • Business without silos. The solution unifies a business by breaking open silos of information, boosting efficiency with automated tasks and workflows – all of which can be integrated with familiar Office tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Actionable insights. It makes it possible to achieve greater outcomes and gain a complete view of your business with connected data, business analytics, and guidance from Microsoft’s intelligent technologies
  • Solutions built to evolve. The cloud solution can be deployed rapidly, customised as required, and grown on demand, adapting in real time to meet changing business needs.

Assetlink is an Australian owned integrated facilities services provider, who have expanded nationally, and has around 2,500 people serving over 350 clients from large-scale national portfolios to single-site facilities within the Retail, Commercial, Government, Education, Health, Aged Care and Resource channels.

The company is now working with Microsoft partner Dialog to prepare for our move to Dynamics 365 Business Central and expect there will be real benefits from the streamlined productivity that these two SaaS solutions can bring to the organisation.

The enhanced system and data security afforded by the cloud-based solution, along with ability for anywhere, anytime access by employees as they serve the needs of customers nationwide will support the company’s growth and customer service ambitions.

SMBs ready to take their business to the next level with Dynamics 365 Business Central also benefit from an experienced and accomplished ecosystem of Microsoft partners – including Empired, Microchannel, Dialog, Rhipe, KPMG, Fenwick and DXC – that can support businesses with their digital transformation.

Microsoft partners have a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in business, and the expertise to help SMBs transition to modern business solutions, integrate their business applications for maximum impact, and tailor solutions for specific business requirements.

According to Michael O’Keefe; “More than half of all the respondents to the survey – 54 per cent – recognise that better use of technology, integration and efficiency will play a significant role in growing their business over the next year or two. That’s precisely what Dynamics 365 Business Central has been designed for – to prime business for success and growth.”
