Mark Anderson

National Security Officer

Mark Anderson is the National Security Officer for Microsoft Australia and New Zealand, responsible for security and trust in Microsoft’s cloud platforms across government, critical infrastructure, and regulated industries. He works closely with policymakers, regulators, and customers to support the secure adoption of cloud technologies and alignment with evolving security, compliance, and risk management expectations.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, including over 20 years at Microsoft, Mark has held leadership roles across security, architecture, and strategy in global and regional markets. In his current role, he works closely with government stakeholders and provides oversight of security assurance for Microsoft’s cloud services across Australia and New Zealand.

Mark holds a Master of Cyber Security with high distinction from Edith Cowan University and is an Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie University.
