Last night, fans, media and YouTubers turned out in force to celebrate the launch of Halo 5: Guardians at Camden Roundhouse, London. Hosted by Graeme Boyd and Julia Hardy, and with over 400 guests in attendance, the scene was set with Halo memorabilia ahead of the arrival of iconic lead character, the Master Chief, who appeared alongside his rival, Spartan Locke.
Kicking off the celebrations was a two and a half hour livestream with four teams of four – made up of YouTubers and Fans – battling it out on stage to become the UK Halo Champions. “Team Charlie”, captained by YouTube stars Ali-A and Wizzite, claimed the title after a nail-biting battle in the game’s new Breakout mode. In addition, 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor did a live campaign walk-through before Halo fans were treated to a whole host of giveaways. Celebrations continued long into the evening with an exclusive DJ set from Kayper, before the UK handed over to the US for Halo 5: Live.
