A new Xbox One X bundle featuring PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) will be released this week, Microsoft has announced.

The pack features a one-terabyte Xbox One X – the most powerful console ever made – an enhanced and downloadable copy of PUBG, a wireless controller, a one-month trial of Xbox’s Game Pass streaming service and a one-month trial of Xbox Live Gold.

It has been released as Xbox announced that the popular multiplayer online battle royale game now has more than eight million players on Xbox One.

In the game, up to 100 players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. It has proved to be a huge hit since its release on PC in March 2017, and that popularity has continued after it was launched as a console exclusive in the Xbox Game Preview Program at the end of last year.

The new bundle will be available from the Microsoft Store and UK retailers later this week, priced at £449.99.

Xbox also announced a new Xbox One S Minecraft bundle.

The pack contains an Xbox One S, a full-game download of the block-building game, the Update Aquatic, the Explorer’s pack – containing new textures and skins – season one of Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure, a one-month Xbox Game Pass trial and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial.

Minecraft is one of the most popular computer games of all time, with more than 120 million copies sold to date. Around 55 million fans play the game every month. The Update Aquatic was released in May and introduces shipwrecks, coral, kelp, fish, dolphins and a trident in large underwater worlds that players can explore.

“Infinite worlds and ways to play can be found in this bundle, as well as the option to play with your friends on nearly any other platform thanks to Xbox Live,” wrote Xbox host Larry Hyrb in a blog post. “Join millions of players in the Minecraft community on Xbox, Windows, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices with this new bundle.”

The Minecraft bundle will be available soon from the Microsoft Store and UK retailers, priced at £249.99.
