Microsoft CityNext leading the edge of future living at ICT Expo

Microsoft was a key collaborating partner of the HKTDC International ICT Expo, where the latest next-gen ICT solutions for enterprises and SMEs were showcased. With the theme of “Smart City: The Way of the Future”, Microsoft highlighted our leading edge smart city solutions at our CityNext Pavilion in collaboration with solution partners Automatic Engineering/T3, Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, NCSI/ICONICS, Inc and PCCW Solutions Limited. Over 10,000 visits were recorded throughout the 4 days’ event (13-16 Apr) with 2,000 unique attendees visiting the Microsoft CityNext Pavilion.

 

A focal point at the CityNext Pavilion was the Microsoft AI Kiosk. Deployed over a Microsoft Surface Hub device, the AI Kiosk demonstrated three Microsoft AI solutions namely UrbanAir, Real-time Crowd Insight and Video Indexer. When applied to different urban scenarios from environmental monitoring, facilities management to content analysis, these AI technologies can modernize our city life and substantially optimize our experience.
Smart Lamppost being demonstrated at Automatic Engineering/T3 booth. The Smart Lamppost provides intelligent insights to road and traffic condition that will essentially enable city traffic planning and improvement.
The elderly care and hybrid cloud solutions presented by Fujitsu is a proven success in securing home safety for solitary elders in aging populations such as Japan.

 

Hewlett Packard Enterprise demonstrated smart building solutions. Built on Azure Stack this solution collects and analyses all facility operation data to provide intelligence for the optimization of facility resources.
Solutions for Urbanized Future (SURF) demonstrated by NCSI/ICONICS impact the lives of residents and transform public services.
PCCW showcase smart parking solutions which help ensure parking slots are utilized to the largest extent, and drivers can save time locating parking slot.
Fred Sheu, National Technology Officer of Microsoft Hong Kong introduced how Microsoft CityNext Solutions are underpinning the development for smart cities in Hong Kong by collaborating with different technology partners with unique domain expertise in “Next-Generation Smart City Solutions” ICT panel discussion session.
