Hong Kong, 7 April 2025 – Microsoft Hong Kong, a partner of the Cyberport Technology Network (CTN), has collaborated with Cyberport to develop the Cyberport x Microsoft AI Partnership Programme, aimed at supporting local start-ups. In line with the global trend in AI applications, this initiative offers benefits such as solution support, one-on-one guidance from technical experts, and business matching opportunities. These resources are designed to nurture local start-ups with significant potential, enabling them to realize their full AI capabilities and develop innovative technological solutions across various domains. Ultimately, six companies were selected, highlighting Microsoft Hong Kong and Cyberport’s commitment to fostering the vibrant development of Hong Kong’s AI ecosystem.
The six selected companies span various fields, offering solutions in preparation to launch on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace that address healthcare, insurance claims, risk management, and corporate sustainability. As part of the programme, these cutting-edge technology companies showcased their AI technologies and solutions to potential customers and investors at the DEMO Day, held on March 25th at Cyberport, which attracted 50+ participants. The event provided a platform for the six companies to demonstrate how they use AI technologies to address industry pain points, generating enthusiastic responses, and successfully facilitating business matches, providing a springboard for their future business development.
As a part of “HKonnect+”, a vision introduced by Microsoft Hong Kong last year, this collaboration aims to enhance Microsoft Hong Kong’s role as a key technology partner for global enterprises in Hong Kong, while using its strengths to act as a connection hub to help local businesses expand internationally. With the goal to nurture groundbreaking AI solutions, establish a comprehensive AI ecosystem, and promote technological advancement and popularized application in Hong Kong.
Henry Li, Head of Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft Hong Kong shared, “We are pleased to collaborate with Cyberport to launch this impactful partnership program. As a part of the “HKonnect+” vision, we aim to use the expertise and platform of both Cyberport and Microsoft Hong Kong in talent development and AI Innovation, creating synergies that will help promising local start-ups maximize the potential of AI and succeed in both local and international markets. Our ongoing vision is to provide robust support for exceptional start-ups, nurture AI talent and enterprises, and strengthen Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ecosystem.”
Henry Li, Head of Ecosystem Development at Cyberport added, “We are very pleased to partner with Microsoft Hong Kong to promote this partnership programme, providing crucial support and opportunities for five Cyberport Community members to fully benefit from the transformative power of AI. As a start-up incubator and AI accelerator of Hong Kong, Cyberport has been dedicated to building a vibrant start-up ecosystem. This programme highlights our commitment to nurturing start-ups and driving technological innovation, injecting new momentum into Hong Kong’s AI ecosystem. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Microsoft Hong Kong to create more opportunities for start-ups and further drive the long-term development of Hong Kong’s digital economy.”
The Cyberport and Microsoft AI Partnership Programme consists of two phases for start-ups. The first phase, known as the “Founders Hub,” is opened to start-ups that have not reached Series D or further funding stage, and targeted to build software-based product or service.
Among 70 successful applicants, companies that demonstrated significant progress and established a solid foundation for implementing their AI solutions would graduate from this phase. Through a joint selection process by Microsoft Hong Kong and Cyberport, six eligible companies entered the advanced phase of the programme and have received one-on-one technical guidance in areas such as software design, architecture design, and publishing. In addition to Azure credits and AI models such as Azure AI Studio and Azure OpenAI services, they also gained access to select features of Azure AI, including cognitive resources that simulate human thought processes and voice recognition APIs, effectively equipping them to develop and build advanced and forward-looking solutions. Eventually, Cyberport and Microsoft Hong Kong would offer DEMO Day as a platform, supporting these companies with business matching opportunities.
As a successful round up of the half-year programme, the selected start-ups have demonstrated their AI solutions on the DEMO Day. Some of the presented solutions include:
- Anlan Infotech Limited’s predictive analytics platform for the global logistics insurance industry uses AI to analyze large datasets, helping to detect risks and fraudulent activities in insurance claims. This enables insurers to make informed decisions.
- Axiom Science Corporation enhances healthcare operations and business decisions with AI, enhancing patient care and cost-effectiveness through data-driven insights and smart diagnostics. This includes hospitals, day surgery centers, and clinics, along with insurance systems to create a closed-loop healthcare ecosystem.
- Mediconcen effectively utilizes AI and blockchain technologies to automate the entire insurance claims process, enabling clients to achieve greater efficiency and enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Nanoinsure offers a comprehensive range of AI-driven insurance management solutions that empower insurers to streamline product creation, enable digital sales, and modernize legacy systems, and more.
