Microsoft has rolled out a new update to the preview version of Microsoft Edge for iOS. Apart from some minor changes, the update has most significantly added support for 3D Touch. So once this feature is enabled, users can press the Edge icon on the iPhone home screen and perform various tasks such as launching a voice search, opening a new tab, or even launch a QR scanner.

Microsoft Garage, where employees test any project idea to get more focused on what customers really want, has come up with another lock screen for Android phones. This one, called ‘Favorites Lock Screen’, is the fourth, after Next Lock Screen, for Android; Tetra Lock Screen, for Windows Phone; and Picturesque Lock Screen, for Android. Each of these have been designed for different types of users by focusing on different value propositions, says a Microsoft blog post.

Azure DocumentDB gives Sulekha the speed and flexibility that it needs to handle over 35 million unique visits per month. Sulekha is one of India’s largest and fastest-growing digital platforms and Sulekha chose Microsoft Azure DocumentDB because it offers the flexibility, speed, and lower administrative overhead that Sulekha was looking for. Fortinet has announced an expanded technology alliance with Microsoft through its Fabric Ready Partner Program and new integrations for cloud security services. Microsoft has joined the Fortinet Fabric Ready Partner Program, further integrating Fortinet Security Fabric threat information, intrusion prevention, and management capabilities into Microsoft Azure Security Center (ASC) to better protect cloud workloads. As a Fabric-Ready Partner, Microsoft Azure customers benefit from the broad and automated capabilities of the Fortinet Security Fabric with pre-integrated, end-to-end cloud security offerings, reducing technical support burden and costs for enterprise customers.

The Microsoft and Heptio collaboration aims to ensure Heptio Ark delivers a strong Kubernetes disaster-recovery solution for customers who want to use it on Azure. The companies will also work together to make the Ark project an efficient solution to move Kubernetes applications across on-premise computing environments and Azure, and to ensure that Azure-hosted backups are secure.

Cloud computing and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to process vast amounts of disparate data were most picked up in 2017 that brought success for the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector in India. On these lines, Microsoft launched Kaizala, a mobile app and service for Android, iOS and Windows phones, designed for large group communication and work management. The app coordinates work with the entire value chain, including field employees, vendors, partners and customers on-the-go. Mobility and automation innovation in technology has enabled banks in their turnaround time and to minimise errors.

Fujitsu and Microsoft on Saturday announced to build new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions that will transform the ways people work. Based on the Microsoft 365 integrated cloud service, the new solutions will be powered by Fujitsu’s AI technology, Fujitsu Human Centric AI Zinrai, and Microsoft AI platform services on Azure. The two companies aim to develop a new $2 billion of new businesses in the global market by 2020.

Not just ‘Ruuh,’ social chatbots built by Microsoft have over 100 million users with 30 billion conversation sessions across five countries.
