Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced it has formed a go-to-market alliance with Microsoft through Cloud28+, the world’s largest, open community dedicated to increasing enterprise cloud adoption. By becoming a Cloud28+ member, Microsoft will combine forces with HPE to provide partners with new business opportunities and tools, while accelerating customer business outcomes powered by a rich hybrid IT ecosystem.

Microsoft is reportedly testing a new feature that would allow users to reset their account passwords from the lock screen with the help of digital assistant Cortana. The new feature is available in the latest preview of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. It can be seen on the lock screen alongside the sign-in options link. Microsoft has designed the whole process to be intuitive, once users click on the option that reads “I forgot my password,” they are provided with a wizard guiding them throughout the entire process, with Cortana asking for password recovery information, including secondary email, phone number, or Microsoft Authenticator verification code.

Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella introduced a new “transformative” tool for businesses to go digital and make complete use of the latest advancement in the IT and digital world. Describing Microsoft 365 as the fusion of intelligent cloud with already existing proven cloud solutions, the Indian-American CEO said the new digital offer from the top global IT Company is coming together of its other popular products Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise mobility and security.

Halo 5: Guardians, the fifth entry in the Halo franchise, was a notable omission from the list of existing Xbox One games that Microsoft announced would be getting an update for 4K graphics for the Xbox One X at E3 last month. However, it looks like Halo fans need not have worried- 343 Industries have just announced that Halo 5 will be getting an update for 4K graphics for the Xbox One X after all.

The Xbox peripheral was designed as a camera that allows you to control video games with your movements, now it’s been used to map the skull of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Researchers with MIT’s Camera Culture group realized the equipment they currently had wasn’t capable of getting the information they needed. So they turned to the $150 Kinect to solve their problems. Undaunted they were able to rig up a chest-mounted Kinect camera and get a full scan.

The Xbox One X promises to be the most powerful console ever, when it launches later this year. Speaking to MCVUK, Microsoft’s Head of Xbox Operations Dave McCarthy stated that it will ‘feel like a premium PC experience overall.’ He added that consumers really want to balance price against capabilities. But, there will always be customers in your segment of gamers that want the best of the best, and that the PC space was really the only place they could go to get that. They now have the ability to get that in the console space.

In2IT Technologies, the IT consulting and services company, announces that it has become a Microsoft Authorized Education Partner (AEP), demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft academic customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment. To earn a Microsoft AEP authorization, partners must complete a test to prove their level of academic licensing and market expertise.

A team of 30 researchers at Microsoft labs in Redmond and Bengaluru are busy developing a new class of machine-learning software and tools to embed artificial intelligence onto computer processors. The project is part of a paradigm shift that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella described recently: “We’re moving from today’s mobile-first, cloud-first world to an intelligent cloud and intelligent edge. The researchers imagine all sorts of intelligent devices that could be created, from smart soil-moisture sensors deployed for precision irrigation on remote farms to brain implants that warn users of impending seizures.

The integration of Skype Lite and Aadhaar will help Skype Lite users identify the true identity of the person on either end of the call. Both can verify their identities at the beginning of the video call by requesting Aadhaar verification. To confirm their identity, the user has to click on “Verify Aadhaar identity”, enter their Aadhaar number. They will be asked to authenticate with a one-time password (OTP). Once validated, they can choose to share the Aadhaar information with the other person to confirm their identity.

While artificial intelligence (AI) is getting bigger and broader in the market, Microsoft has planned to bring its presence on small devices to grow further. The Redmond company is looking to build a computer-vision model for the hardware even tinier than a Raspberry Pi. An early preview of Embedded Learning Library (ELL), which has been released on GitHub, is designed to initiate the process of bringing AI to miniature devices. The software is lauded to embed AI onto bread-crumb size computer processors and enable an all new class of machine learning.
