Microsoft, chip-maker NVIDIA and Intel have made the investment for a Canadian artificial intelligence (AI) start-up “Element AI”. Element AI, that came on the scene eight months ago, is a platform to help companies of all sizes build AI into their businesses and it has raised $102 million. Element AI will use the funding to hire more employees, invest in big AI projects and acquire start-ups in the space.

Communications Today: Microsoft Joins Cloud Foundry Foundation

On day one of the Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley, Microsoft said it joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation, the nonprofit that manages the open source cloud application platform. Microsoft Azure’s Director of Compute Corey Sanders said both Microsoft and Cloud Foundry share a commitment to “help organizations modernize their applications without vendor lock-in.”
